How are doulas and nannies different?
A postpartum doula and a nanny play different roles in supporting families. A postpartum doula provides care focusing on the mother’s recovery and family’s adjustment. We offer breastfeeding support, newborn care education, light household tasks, and emotional support. We are trained to help parents feel confident as they transition into life with a newborn.
Unlike a nanny, my role as a postpartum doula is focused on supporting the entire family during the early postpartum period. I provide care for both the parents and the newborn, offering guidance on newborn care, lactation, sleep education, and emotional recovery. While a nanny focuses primarily on long-term childcare, my services are designed to empower parents, ease their transition into parenthood, and foster confidence through education, hands-on support, and holistic care tailored to your family’s needs.
